Georgia Matsamaki was born in Crete, Greece. She holds a BA in Graphic Design and Photography and works in the field of Applied Arts. In addition to her professional assignments, she is actively engaged in the development of personal projects. Using photography, graphic design, and collage as her primary medium, she explores the invisible in everyday life, aims to highlight the value of ordinary objects, and offers new interpretations of what is often taken for granted. An emphasis on the insignificant or the seemingly "nothing" is a key element that characterizes her visual language.
Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Photography Museum of Thessaloniki, Kommunale Galerie Berlin, Ephemere Photo Space in Tokyo, Mexican Museum of Design, Cocomat Store in Barcelona, Art Festival of Bologna, and Freud’s Dream Museum in Saint Petersburg. It has also been featured by online platforms dedicated to contemporary photography, such as Vice Magazine, Humble Arts Foundation, PEP Photographic Exploration Project, LensCulture, Musée Magazine, Feature Shoot, Broad Magazine, Lenscratch, Float Magazine, Artdoc Magazine, and Luminous Eye Athens, among others.
